San Francisco (THEWILL) - Justice Marcel Awokulehin, the judge presiding over the alleged money laundering trial of ex Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori and others, has once again adjourned court proceedings till December 04, 2009.
In a notice on sunday to parties involved in the case, he said the adjournment was due to the conference of judges (Federal High Court Annual Legal Year Conference) holding in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Judge Awokulehin had adjourned ruling to Monday, November 23, 2009, in a highly contentious issue; on whether the prosecution had enough evidence to prosecute the former governor and other accused persons. The defendants have urged the court to throw out the charges against them.
