Ibori UK Trial: Scotland Yard Release Names Of 14 Nigerian Witnesses

Abuja (THEWILL) – The London Metropolitan Police Department, tuesday made public the identities of 14 Nigerian witnesses flown in to testify in the alleged money laundering trial of three associates of former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori.

The witnesses are: Mustapha Baba, Habila Anderifun and Sunday Musa (Code of Conduct Bureau)

Superintendent Yahaya Bello (Nigerian Police Force)

Mr. Steven Falomo (EFCC)

Godfrey Ike ( Corporate Affairs Commission)

Omoniyi Runsewe ( Countrywide Paymasters)

Eddie Egbumokei (A & C) Engineering

Enitan Sowole (Menkat Limited)

Taiwo Adedeji, Godwin Elumelu, Stephen Kutelu, Gilbert Eneh and Godwin Anekwe.

The witnesses are expected to be in court on November 24, 2009 when the trial of Christine Ibori-Ibie, Ms. Bimpe Pogoson and Ms. Udoamaka Okoronkwo will resume.

The Nigerian Government gave assent to a request from the Mets to send 25 witnesses to London, to assist in proving its criminal charges against the three women.

The Attorney-General of the Federation had earlier frowned at the request, but was pressured by the United Kingdom Government to provide the witnesses.

The trial of the trio started when Mallam Nuhu Ribadu was Chairman of The EFCC.
