San Francisco (THEWILL) – There are confirmed reports that the father of Nigeria’s former Central Bank Chief, Charles Soludo was abducted at about 7.pm local time in his village Isuofia, Anambra State. As at the time of writing this report, there has been no communication(s) from his kidnappers.

Professor Soludo is the rulling party’s governorship candidate in next years poll in Anambra State. His candidacy has been engulfed in series of controversies. He is presently battling a court order, which ordered the electoral commission to remove his name from the ballot.

In a phone chat, one of Soludo's aides linked Pa Simeon's kidnap to the State's governorship primaries which saw Soludo emerge as party candidate under intriguing circumstances. His candidacy has been fiercely opposed by several chieftains of his party in the State.

Abductions in Nigeria has risen to alarming levels since the Yar’dua administration took office.
