APPEAL COURT SACKS PDP FEDERAL LEGISLATOR.
Abuja (THEWILL) - The election of Honourable Folake Olunloyo Oshinowo, a Nigerian federal legislator, representing Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency, Oyo State has been annulled by an Appeal court in Ibadan.
The court headed by Justice CB Ogunbiyi ruled that Oshinowo’s election was fraudulent and ordered the electoral commission to conduct a new poll within six months. The independent electoral body had declared Folake Oshinowo winner of the April 2007 poll.
The electoral commission (INEC) headed by Maurice Iwu has faced severe criticisms over it's conduct of the April 2007 general elections.
