Borno: BH Killings Continue Despite State Of Emergency

SAN FRANCISCO, January 31, (THEWILL) – About Six persons including two Nigerian Air Force personnel have been killed at different locations in and around Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, THEWILL can report today.
Boko Haram, the terrorist Islamic group with headquarters in Maiduguri is believed to be responsible for the killings.
One Air Force personnel dressed in regular civilian attire at the close of work was gunned down alongside two other civilians a few metres from the Air Force Base in Maiduguri on Monday night, an eyewitness told THEWILL on Tuesday.
The source said the officer walked into what looked like a robbery (two persons were being robbed outside a house) at the Ngomari part of town and was shot instantly. The incident occurred just a few minutes to 7.pm.
The gunmen got away after the incident.
The second Air Force man was killed same Monday night by a group of gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram outside Maiduguri around an area called Polo.
One civilian was also killed on Monday night in front of a Mosque in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area, according to the Borno State Police Commissioner, Mr. Simeon Midenda.
Another man was killed on Tuesday afternoon and his body was seen on the street after the shooting.
The Fields Operations Officer, JTF, Colonel Victor Ebhaleme confirmed the killings to journalists.
Boko Haram a faceless terrorist group which security agencies believe is being sponsored by anti-government politicians and interests mostly made up of Northerners, have continued to kill Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion, gender and age hiding under a whacked and widely discredited radical Islamic religious ideology.
