Update: New Police IG Abubakar’s Wife Dies
ACTING INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE, MR MOHAMMED DIKKO ABUBAKAR.
SAN FRANCISCO, January 30, (THEWILL) – The wife of the new Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Dikko Abubakar has died in Kano after a brief illness, THEWILL has gathered from one security source.
Abubakar was appointed Acting Inspector General of Police last week following the forced retirement of former IGP, Alhaji Hafiz Ringim.
Police Force Deputy Spokesman, Mr. Yemi Ajayi in a conference call with THEWILL Monday morning said his office has not been formally briefed on the subject, but added that a formal statement should be available later in the day.
THEWILL has however gathered from another source that Maryam M.D. Abubakar will be buried today according to Islamic tradition.
