Explosive Device Causes Pandemonium In Kano Bus Terminal

KANO, January 26, (THEWILL) - Pandemonium broke out Thursday at a popular Luxury motor park on New Road, Sabon- Gari area of Kano, when an explosive device exploded; shattering side windows of the two luxury buses, with two persons sustaining minor injuries, THEWILL can report.
 
The explosion occurred as travelers were boarding two of the luxury buses parked inside the terminal. The two luxury buses were Lagos bound with stops in some South-West cities.
 
Kano State, a state in northern Nigeria has witnesses renewed attacks from the Islamic terrorist group, the Boko Haram, a dangerous shadowy sect that has no faces to it.
 
One source in the Kano State Police Command that asked not to be named confirmed the incident saying, a team from its anti-bomb unit had been dispatched to the terminal to probe the incident for any clues as to what exactly caused the blast.
 
But an eyewitness who was at the scene of the incident, but preferred anonymity told THEWILL correspondent that the explosion came from a school bag left amongst other bags belonging to travelers, dumped between the two buses and waiting to be loaded in the under-belly trunk of the buses.
 
The eyewitness said the two persons with wounds were hurriedly ferried to a nearby hospital for treatment.
 
The source further said policemen arrived and cordoned off the area just as an evacuation was ordered to enable them do a thorough investigation.
 
The transport company moved its operations to an old site where it operated from a few years back.
 
THEWILL was also told that policemen took away two persons of interest for further interrogation.
