SAN FRANCISCO, January 15, (THEWILL) - Organised labour early Monday morning in Nigeria cancelled street protests and asked workers to observe the ongoing nationwide strike from home, NLC President, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar said Monday.

THEWILL gathered the decision was taken after labour unions realised that elements of opposition parties especially those in the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) have hijacked the protests to propagate propaganda's and their own political agenda.

Recall that the likes of Pastor Tunde Bakare and Mr. Yinka Odumakin both of the CPC have been in the forefront of the Lagos protests.
