... Meeting ended Abruptly.

ABUJA, January 14, (THEWILL) - The crucial meeting  between Labour Unions and the Federal Governmnet has ended abruptly without both parties reaching an agreement, THEWILL can report.

Following the development, the nationwide strike action continues on Monday.

Information on the discussions at the meeting was still sketchy as at press time, but labour unions in a meeting with their NEC earlier had insisted on reversing the price of petrol to N65, before any further negotiations on the price could be set.

NLC President, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar said there will however be no shut down of oil platforms as earlier threatened by PENGASSAN. Comrade Omar said labour unions would meet again with their NEC to deliberate on the outcome of today's meeting.
