UMUANIOMA CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN ON POLL WIN

On behalf of Umu Anioma worldwide and on behalf of the Umu Anioma Foundation Board of Trustees, I extend to your Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR heart felt congratulations on your election as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Your resounding victory in the just concluded Presidential elections held April 16, 2011 demonstrates the confidence and goodwill which Nigerians have reposed in your leadership.
 
In the coming days and weeks, the pundits will debate and talk about an un-even and sometimes unexplained voter turn-out in some areas; perhaps some "K" leg between registration, accreditation, voting, counting, pasting, collation and actual announcement of the results etc…..
Your campaign was vigorous and at times testy. In spite of all the difficulties that went with this particular election, the people of Nigeria have spoken loudly and clearly and the Independent National Electoral Commission has respected their will by rightfully declaring you as the custodian of the popular will and mandate of the Nigerian people. Umu Anioma wanted to let you know that you have our full support as you lead our nation to join the free world where only the will of the people is the foundation of governance.
 
As the chief custodian of the mandate of the people of Nigeria, we would like to bring to your attention the yearnings and aspirations of the people commonly known as ANIOMA for a state of their own. This is not a new agitation as the name, `ANIOMA' was coined in 1951 by the late Premier of the then Midwestern Region, Chief Denis Osadebe when the agitation for autonomy of Anioma people was first brought to the limelight. This proposed state, we hope will bring together Anioma Indigenes from Anambra, Delta, Edo, Imo and Rivers states.
 
Your Excellency as you may already know, Anioma geographical area is blessed with abundant human and natural resources which if well-harnessed, would bring the much-desired development to the area as well as contribute meaningfully to the nation as a whole. We therefore, request that you write your name in the hearts of Anioma people by championing the making of ANIOMA, the 37th state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
 
Our sincere congratulations once again your Excellency and be assured of our prayers and support as we continue to work closely with you to transform our great country.
