PDP PRIMARY: NWODO, OBASANJO, LAR, NNAMANI COMPLAINING?

You need to look for why it is obvious that the ‘biggest party’ in Africa, PDP, is going extinct. From Oyo to Akwa Ibom, Plateau to Ogun, Enugu to Benin; the sordid tales of the failed PDP primaries were painted all over the place. Even in Bayelsa, the home State of the incumbent President, the story is not different.

If the PDP’s Board of Trustees Chairman in the person of former President Olusegun Obasanjo could complain up to the point of threatening to quit but still dey laugh; the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, could be complained against by Governor Sullivan Chime; former National Chairman of PDP, Mr. Solomon Lar could complain against Governor David Jang, then who is left in the PDP? Even in Akwa Ibom where pretences have been on-going that the party is so intact with the governor and his clique holding sway, without former Governor Attah and other aggrieved party loyalists interfering, there have been serious complaints by (silent majority) short-changed party members who came from all the 31 LGAs to stage a frightening demonstration at the Government House in Uyo on 4/1/11 requiring that joint-security men were brought in for keep the law and order.

It will be recalled that when persons like Governor Attah complained to Olusegun Obasanjo that the situation in Akwa Ibom PDP was worth looking into but he was told to take the case to God. Now one wonders why Obasanjo decided not to take his case to God but to Dr. Nwodo who himself is embattled and rattled with the strong showing from Governor Chime’s camp. One thing is sure; nemesis would always catch up with people, and those who support evil, such would remain their portion. This is what is being witnessed by those bunches in the PDP today.

Yet the PDP presidential primary between the two desperados (Atiku and Jonathan) may be the final nail in the coffin of Africa’s biggest political party. Therefore ACN, CPC, ANPP and LP being the other visible parties (in that order) need form a formidable alliance for a better Nigeria. From experience, the electorate would not want to see only a political party in power at the centre any longer because of the need for checks and balances always.
