IGBOKWENU! IGBOS SHOULD WAKE UP FROM SLUMBER
 
Just like Fela’s lyrics were prophetic as a musician who saw tomorrow, Christy Igbokwe recorded many songs that could be said to also saw tomorrow but in most cases advisory. I request (my) Igbo people to listen to the lyrics contained in her rendition titled “Umu Igbo teta nu na ula” – translated in English “Igbos wake up from (your) slumber”. The contents of the track are thought-provoking and qualified to be considered as the Igbo Tribal Anthem.  

Saturday (18/12/10) newspapers especially Vanguard confirmed the selfishness and falsehood contained in some few Igbo groups that are preaching that after Jonathan in 2011, comes President of Igbo extraction. The truth is that should Jonathan becomes President in 2011 no other ‘Igbo person’ would succeed him in 2015. Consider the horse-trading that earned Jonathan (a hollow) endorsement for 2011 by the 20 PDP governors. When asked to give assurance that he would only go for one term, it was Chief Tony Anenih who assured, on his behalf.  Furthermore, when Jonathan was asked what section of the country he would hand over to after the four years; both Jonathan and Anenih kept mute. It will be recalled that Anenih looks like someone never to be trusted; he was part of the agreement that the North should take their turn after Obasanjo only to (now) deny the existence of such?

In another news item published on page 6/7 of same Vanguard edition, was reported that when Jonathan visited Ikemba (Ojukwu) to solicit his support for the 2011 presidency, he was quoted thus: “I consider myself an Igbo man”. Now tell me; Jonathan as an Igbo man, would any right thinking Igbo person assume that Nigerians would allow another Igbo man to succeed Jonathan?

From any angle you look at it, should Jonathan win or lose in the PDP primary, it is assumed that he took part in the process and this has now erased off any type of future zoning.
