WHICH UDENTA?

I have been reading about one Dr. Udenta O. Udenta who once co-signed an advertised document titled: “We Will Not Be Deterred By the Politics of Impunity, Silence, Fear, Intimidation and Harassment”, which appeared in several national newspapers. The said Dr. Udenta O. Udenta, signed as Director-General, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki Campaign Organization and the name has also appeared as Deputy Director-General of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation.
 
I know of one Udenta O. Udenta who was Director at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Abuja. I also know that this same man had a stint, as lecturer at the Abia State University, Uturu before joining the services of IPCR. I was a student in his Department and I can attest to the fact that he does not have a doctorate degree, nor is he a medical doctor. In fact, he once registered for a doctorate degree programme in a University but dropped out.
 
If it is the same Udenta O. Udenta who now, knowingly, signs a public document under the name of Dr. Udenta, then it is a case of public deception, impersonation and fraud. Inadvertently, calling a person “Doctor” may be an acceptable error. But for a man to append his signature to a false claim is inexcusable. Appointing such a person to be a leader in the Campaign Organisation of a Presidential aspirant in Nigeria says a lot about the candidate’s credibility. It is a shame!
