Dear Editor,

DEATH TOLLS FOR PDP IN DELTA, A’IBOM, OGUN, ETC

The PDP is most likely to lose Delta, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Imo, and Plateau by 2011 and ACN is positioning to be a major beneficiary.

In Delta State: Governorship aspirant Omo-Agege and top PDP chieftains defected to ACN; Chief Edwin Clark an ardent supporter of Jonathan and mover of ‘Uduaghan must go’ is waxing stronger and his followers would be urged to vote Jonathan as President and vote against Uduaghan should he fly PDP flag. Moreover in a closing Statement regarding the trial of Nkoyo Ibori, the UK prosecutors have made case against persons, including Uduaghan as one of the facilitators of James Ibori’s loots. In Akwa Ibom, an ardent supporter of Akpabio, Dr. Ime Umanah, like most opposition, is having a dose of Akpabio’s treatment. Umanah is an Annang man (as Akpabio) but from Abak axis; Abak, that one understands, has the greater Annang population. There is also an influential but apolitical Chief Monday Ekong also from Abak-Annang, believed to have initiated almost all the big projects in today’s Akwa Ibom but Akpabio has impoverished him by personally confiscating his Ibaka City project. Also a torn in Akpabio’s flesh is Senator James Udoedeghe who has declared for ACN with thousands of former PDP stalwarts. The Senator, an Ibibio, has a strong Annang wife from Abak axis.

In Kaduna, it is a known fact that any serious Muslim candidate fielded against Yakowa would carry the day. In Ogun, the type of division created by Obasanjo-Daniel-Dimeje divides has taken that State to a point of no return and surely would make PDP loss it; so also the crisis in Oyo and Osun where great division is among the PDP chieftains therefore ACN is ready to reclaim the States that Obasanjo tricked them into loosing.

In Plateau State, PDP will perform better if it fields any other candidate apart from Jang otherwise it would go to ANPP or CPC or ACN. The situation in Imo State is proving interesting; the President does not totally love Governor Ohakim but Ohakim is doing everything to woo him; but how can when front page of Saturday Champion had bold headline indicating that Ohakim believes in ‘zoning’. With the decamping of Ararume, Udenwa and other PDP chieftains, fielding Ohakim would spell doom for the PDP.
