KADUNA TWO-TIME DEPUTY NOW TO BE GOVERNOR

If we Muslims believe in the fact that Allah (God) gives power and life and takes at will, I see no reason why we (Muslims) that constitute an overwhelming majority in Kaduna State should not be asking God to allow His will be done.

We are parochially thinking of a State (Kaduna) and not even the entire nation (Nigeria). What of if Jonathan nominated a Christian from the north as his Vice, what would we do?

We should not forget that we had the freest and fairest election in 1993 where MKO Abiola (a Muslim from the south) paired with Babagana Kingibe (a Muslim from the north) as President and Vice-President and hell was not let loose; our southern and northern Christians accepted and voted that government. As it turned out, the elected-government was annulled by a Muslim-dominated federal (military) government.

We should not also forget that in Adamawa State; when Obasanjo decided to take away Atiku Abubakar, the elected governor then, as his Vice-President, a Christian (Boni Haruna) automatically took over the seat, being Atiku’s deputy. There was peace. Now we are creating tension in a matter that ordinarily should not, concerning the Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, emerging as a substantive Governor. Every reasonable person should think very well.

It is pertinent to remember at this juncture that a popular Islamic scholar, Sheik Gumi of the blessed memory once said that ‘over his dead body’ would a woman rule Nigeria. For making that statement God few months later ensured that in his own (Kumi’s) Local Government Area, a Christian-woman for that matter became the chairman; press confronted him and may be that was what killed him.

We should always allow Allah’s will to happen in our life, therefore Kaduna State governor must take over as governor Namadi Sambo becomes successful in his nomination as the Vice President. Do not forget that Terek Aziz, a catholic Christian was Saddam Hussein’s second in command (Prime Minister), in a country that is almost hundred percent Muslims.
