Editor,

OGBULAFOR AND IMPOSITION TALK

If anyone is qualified to speak against imposition, it is not the PDP national Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, because he was a beneficiary and also perpetrator. Ogbulafor has claimed Andy Uba was imposed on the people by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and thereafter was rigged into Anambra governor’s seat for 17-days before Uba was booted out of office through court pronouncement.

The matter of rigging by the PDP is not what this piece is trying to address.  Yes, PDP had always been in the habit of imposing candidates on the electorate by ensuring that those imposed are rigged to positions. This imposition thing got the bitter pill when the imposed Prof Chukwuma Soludo failed to make it to Anambra governor’s seat.

Soludo was imposed by Prince Ogbulafor; Ogbulafor was imposed by Obasanjo’s kitchen cabinet against the more preferred former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim; so also did Obasanjo impose on PDP the Yar’Adua/Jonathan ticket in the 2007 presidential election and eventually rigged them to victory. But it is not yet over until it is over as the evolving scenario would ensure that Ogbulafor leaves the position for the right person who probably is Anyim and not any northerner, a dummy Ogbulafor has tried to sell to Arewa Youth Forum insinuating that Jonathan was aiming so in order to pave way for his possible contest for the Presidency come 2011.

Ogbulafor has made it his stock-in-trade to cause avoidable disorders in the ruling party and to members who are watching and taking stock.  Ogbulafor and Ike Nwachukwu-led PDP elders committee are in court with Oyo PDP; so also Ogbulafor is with factional chairman of PDP in Enugu, among others. Confusion in many PDP state chapters is the handiwork of Ogbulafor.
