PRESIDENCY: YES POWER BELONGS TO GOD

The sermon that “Power belongs to God”; as delivered by the PDP national Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, and his NWC to Vice President Jonathan Goodluck during their recent visit to the Villa was well understood and taken by Nigerians. He sounded defeatist on matter they should have long taken and resolved without creating the kind of unnecessary seemed deadlock they created.

The Ogbulafor-led PDP and the kitchen cabinet of President Yar’Adua were fighting a lost battle blindly. One thanks God that they are now being forced to bow to a superior argument thereby changing their devilish plan that would have brought untold hardship to Nigerians. But again what I do not understand is their proposed visit to Saudi Arabia; to see President Yar’Adua whose various close aides have told the nation that only three persons (namely, Turai, his CSO and his ADC) have limited access to. It is no longer news that President Yar’Adua is seriously under intensive care and on life-support machine. Whose money are the PDP executives using for this unnecessary trip and what do they intend to achieve?

They cannot see the man and even if they are allowed, the man would not be allowed to talk with them because he does not have the strength to. They should allow him unpressured moments so that he regains his stability fast. Nigerians should condemn the PDP for trying to push the country into unwarranted doldrums. The fragile democracy should be allowed to be progressive and also the people at the helm of affairs should be reminded that if something untoward should happen to our present democracy, they would be the worst losers; may include losing their lives, God forbid. Let Jonathan take over substantively, not even as acting. Without the crystal balls, that is where God who owns Power is looking towards and this may be what He revealed to Ogbulafor. We think like humans but God thinks and directs like the Almighty God that He is.
