THE TWO BITTER ENEMIES

Long time ago in a land not too far away, there lived a cat named Sam, and a mouse, named Freddy.

The two were bitter enemies, and they always fought with each other. They also didn't want their children to be friends.

One day, Sam’s son named 'Ted' was walking in the woods when he saw Freddy's child named Marie, playing alone. He got excited and joined Marie in the game. Freddy, who saw the children playing was unhappy. But the children were too occupied in their game to notice him. At home, Sam called out for his son but could not find him. He decided to search. He found the two children playing together. He stood so aside, watching. He was displeased, but he remained silent, not sure of what to say.

The two children stretched out their hands, and invited their parents to join them in the game. Seeing this gesture, Sam and Freddy forgot they were enemies, and decided to play. Thereafter, they became friends and good neighbours.

Lesson: (1) The innocence of the children made their parents forget their enmity.

(2) Adults should live their lives like children who may quarrel, but quickly forget about it.
