MY HOLY GHOST NIGHT EXPERIENCE (2)
PHOTO: PASTOR ENOCH ADEBOYE.
Pastor Adeboye explained that God is so powerful such that, ‘If Emmanuel is sitting down, He is in control, if He stands up, there will be earthquake, if He is passing, you can snatch your miracles from Him if you have the ability to do so. If He now stays, there will be fullness of joy and things will never remain the same again’. He said Emmanuel has come to stay in Ekiti and Ekiti will never remain the same again. He said the table will turn for good in Ekiti. Pastor Adeboye reiterated the earlier preaching of Kalejaye. He described Kalejaye as an evangelist who is like a forerunner to a pastor. On the other hand, he said if God should depart a place or a ruler, the effect is always calamitous.
He then cited examples of Kings in the scriptures like David and Saul from whom God departed and their kingdoms were torn. He particularly drew the symbolic analogy of the story of Saul and David. He said while Saul, a king was still reigning, God had already anointed another person who was David. The man of God started receiving revelations and relaying them to the congregation with occasional interjections like Ah, Thank you Father, there is someone here tonight… he told the congregation that he used to claim some of the blessings revealed to him first before relaying them to the congregation.
After each revelation, he will say, ‘Let somebody shout Halleluiah!’ to which there is always a thunderous response from the huge crowd. Some of his revelations were remarkable. He said God directed him not to delay his coming to Ekiti to two years because of somebody special whose miracle cannot be delayed for 2 years. He said there was somebody at the crusade that night, who is lucky because he would revel in abundant celebrations that would be everlasting.
That the same person is very lucky as God was telling him to tell the person that his enemies who are saying he would not reach his goal have been defeated and he has reached it already; and instead of his enemies making jest of him, he is the one to make jest of them. He also said the lost glory of Ekiti shall be restored. The pastor prayed fervently for the State and against those holding down her peace and progress.
Two miracles of note were noticed at the crusade, somebody whose private part was leaking and another with hearing defect were healed. Pastor Adeboye told the congregation how within a period of six months, he miraculously got a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God registered in Israel, a request that was denied many Pentecostal religious organizations in Europe and America. Pastor Adeboye gave testimonies on how God used him to heal barren women who are mothers now in far away America when they ate his leftover during his visit to the country.
He also told the congregation how he healed a boy suffering from typhoid fever in Warri by merely saying, ‘God bless you’. Another of his miracles was a dead foetus that he touched and life was restored to it and the baby is now a full grown up man. As he reeled out revelations and preached from the scriptures with occasional melodious tunes from him, it was as if he should continue non-stop. I didn’t realize time was far spent until I looked at my wristwatch and I discovered it was 2am.
The man of God ended his preaching by asking those who wanted to forsake their sins to come forward and accept Christ. Thousands, mostly youths, raced forward in obedience. I then thought if these crowd and those that the Holy Ghost crusade had attracted in the past and who had claimed to have accepted Christ are sincere about being born again, we should have less criminals in our midst. A friend sitting by my side jokingly said, don’t mind these boys and girls o, next time there is another crusade, you would see them there again coming forward to dump sin and be born again and again!
It will also be good if such multitude present at the crusade can vote for a good candidate and wonderful if we can have such a large crowd for protest marches against tyranny because it is by so doing that we can change this country for good. But I was surprised that some of Mr. Segun Oni’s aides captured on video brutalizing, dehumanizing and cannibalizing journalists and observers during Ekiti gubernatorial rerun election did not join the crowd of those who wanted to forsake sin and accept Jesus and be born again as directed by Pastor Adeboye.
Some of the aides left the crusade at that point after having danced endlessly to melodious gospel songs. I met somebody resident in the United States whom I had been chatting with on the internet for a long time at the crusade and she was so pleasant and humble. Before Dr. Fayemi left the venue, he went to greet the man of God. He also greeted and hugged Mr. Segun Oni whom he calls ‘my brother’. The Holy Ghost Night was a memorable one indeed.
