THE CONUNDRUM OF JONATHAN’S ADMINISTRATION
PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN
President Goodluck Jonathan was supposed to be a necessitated President that was meant to fulfil the yearnings of most Nigerians that had shown him their overwhelming support in his bid to govern this great country. We were promised fresh air; a break from the norm, a situation whereby there will be a complete transposition of not only the socio-economic landscape but the lives and attitude of the average Nigerian, ensuring that we imbibe the true ethos of realistic change leading to a new start that will usher in the long awaited and evasive path to a holistic development of Nigeria.
Three years or there about down this insincere administration, we are left with despair, frustration and regret over supporting President Goodluck Jonathan, as he slowly but surely leads the country to failed state situation; nothing seems to be working in Nigeria apart from the imperious corruption by those in government and their associates, bias and insensitivity from this visionless government.Everyday that goes by it is one dirty scandal or another.
My pity goes to the people of Otuoke for producing the worst President this country has ever had, and Goodluck even has the effrontery to aspire for a second term in 2015; he should please spare us the trouble of massively voting him out of office in a very dishonourable manner. This is a President that is busy sharing our subsidy money with his criminal friends in the oil and gas industry, these are the same people that are at the heart of the fuel subsidy scandal, does it not surprise Nigerians that till this moment there has been no conviction or any punitive sanction against any/all of the companies involved in the fuel subsidy scam.
The President has failed in all the sectors, the worst hit are; Security, Roads, Aviation, Power, Education and the fight against corruption. Can the President sincerely tell Nigerians what happens to the over 1 Trillion naira budgeted for securing our lives from this government’s creation; Boko Haram? Your guess is as good as mine the money is corruptly shared and the so called terrorism is encouraged by the government in a subliminal manner, so that the over1 trillion naira will continually be budgeted for security and criminally shared every year, while we watch the ruin of the North’s economy and we in turn foolishly accuse the same North of annihilating their properties and lives. The addition of the religious colouration is just to create diversion from the truth thus ensuring that they place Christians against Muslims in the North and vice versa. Jonathan is such a pretender and a very terrible axis of evil that is hell bent on further disuniting the citizens of this great country. As it portends today we are more divided than ever with a severe mutual suspicion amongst the different Zones (North, West and South) of the country and also along religious divides.
My greatest regret watching this situation of high level disingenuous by Jonathan is that it will have a boomerang effect on the South-South in the long run, as a result of the fact that other Zones in the country will never forget this glaring ruinous inflicted damage to their Zones, most especially the North and they will never forgive. I grew up in the North and what is happening today (Boko Haram Menace) is not and has never been the forte ofan average person from the North; Muslims or Christian likewise.
Let us look at the recent retirements in the Army, most of the retirees were of Northern origins with a few South Western officers and this has occasioned the elevation of officers from mostly the South-South and South East, a glaring example of how Goodluck wants to subjugate other Zones in the country by reducing their influence in all aspects of the nation. But I guarantee the President one thing that is obvious, very soon the chickens will come home to roost and we the people of the South-South will have to pay for the misguided decisions of one very reckless and lack lustre individual that God presented the opportunity to rule on a platter of gold and that person is blowing it away based on some baseless sentimental and religious inclinations.
I am more inclined to follow the path of Asari Dokubu when he recently asserted that President Goodluck Jonathan should forget about re-election in 2015 centred on his dismal performance and failure to deliver on the campaign promises he made in 2011; it is groundlessto dwell on issues, as a result of the conspicuous factthat Jonathan’s administration is bereft of any positive significant achievement. The transformation the administration professes is more of the current leadership of Nigeria transforming their fortunes into mega billions of Naira; tax payer’s money meant for the sustainable development of the country. Goodluck has institutionalized corruption in a manner that is amazing and never before witnessed in Nigeria. The Transformation Agenda of the current Federal Government was a sham from inception is still a sham and will forever be a sham as long as Goodluck superintends over the affairs of Nigeria.
The solution is for fellow Niger Deltans to shun President Goodluck Jonathan’s bid for re-election in 2015, and it must start from this moment, as a people we deserve better than Jonathan; he should have been the least of persons to represent our Zone, we should have learnt from his miserable performance in Bayelsa State as its Governor. The people of South-South are more politically conscious and we will no longer be taken for fools; if Jonathan wants to contest in 2015 then he should better go and garner his support from other Zones of the country of which I doubt he will even get 1% of their votes; no right thinking Northerner or Westerner will vote for Jonathan. We, the people of South-South have unanimously withdrawn our support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who we view as a complete failure that has immensely disgraced and humiliated the South-South.It is better we align ourselves with other Zones of Nigeria to vote Goodluck out thus ensuring that someone with character and intent takes over to save our country from this endemic decay and offer meaningful and purposeful leadership that will take us back to the path of real development. Right about now citizens of the South-South should look beyond the PDP for the kind of leader that Nigeria needs at this despairing moment. In 2011, I wasted my vote on Goodluck Jonathan just like other persons from the South-South, 2015 is around the corner and we must ensure that our votes are not wasted again on the likes Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; our modern day catastrophe.
My patriotic group will continue to use media attrition until President Goodluck realises that he no longer enjoys any form of support athwart the length and breadth of Nigeria.
