SAN FRANCISCO, August 20, (THEWILL) – The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Jama’atul Nasir Islam, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar lll, has urged Muslims to watch out for the new moon of Dhulhajj1 438AH from August 22.
The Sultan made this known in a message to Muslims issued by the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Prof. Sambo Junaidu.
“This is to inform the Muslim Ummah that August 22, which is equivalent to the 29th day of Zulki’ida 1438AH, shall be the day to look for the new moon of Dhulhajj,” the statement read.
“Muslims are, therefore, requested to start looking for the new moon on Tuesday and report its sighting to the nearest district or village head for onward communication to the Sultan.”
