SAN FRANCISCO, April 19, (THEWILL) – Fugitive Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau declared on Saturday that his group was behind the Monday morning bombing of the Nyanya Motor Park in Abuja in which over 100 persons were killed and several others injured.

Shekau made the declaration in a video in which he claimed his group was responsible for the suicide bombing.

In the video, Shekau, who is wanted in both Nigeria and the United States, said the bombing was to avenge the incessant killing of Muslims in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

He said the suicide bombing was also to express. Boko Haram’s displeasure against the failure of western powers to stop alleged killing of the Muslims.

“We are the ones who carried out the bombing in Abuja in an area called Nyanya. (President) Jonathan you are a lame duck. Jonathan, you are too small for us, let’s address your masters like Obama…they are nothing,” Shekau said sarcastically in the video.

“We did it because you killed Muslims in Plateau; you killed Muslims in every country of the world. Why don’t you global tyrants talk when Muslims are killed in Afghanistan?

“Why don’t you talk when Muslims were killed in Iraq? And they are still being killed. “Why don’t you talk when Muslims are killed in the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria, and now Yemen, Mali, Azerbaijan, Shishan, Pakistan?”

However, wide condemnation is trailing the Boko Haram claim as Nigerians maintain that the insurgents are not sincere they kill both Muslims and Christians.
