BEVERLY HILLS, February 15, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 first-leg tie on Wednesday, giving his team the advantage for the second leg in France.

Real is already the only team to repeat as European champions in the current format. And with a decisive lead over one of their fellow favorites, PSG, a continuation of this run is in sight. In fact, should Real win the big trophy again, that would make it a fourth time in five years.

Adrien Rabiot gave the visitors the lead, but Ronaldo tied things up from the penalty spot, bagging his 100th UEFA Champions League goal for Los Blancos. He made history in the process becoming the first player to score 100 Champions League goals for a single club

He scored again inside the final 10 minutes to earn his 101st Champions League goals for Real and Marcelo gave Los Blancos some breathing room with a third goal.

Perhaps it was fitting that Cristiano Ronaldo should get the equalizing and winning goals after Adrien Rabiot put PSG ahead. After all, the 33-year-old forward has seen his scoring output slump in La Liga while he has remained prolific in continental play.

Elsewhere in the competition on Wednesday, Sadio Mane struck for a hat trick, as Liverpool all but confirmed its place in the quarterfinal with a 5-0 win at Porto, with the other goals coming from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
