SAN FRANCISCO, June 24, (THEWILL) – A former presidential hopeful, Prof. Pat Utomi has noted that many Lagos residents had written off the state governor, Akinwumi Ambode, within the first 40 days of his stay in office, but stressed that “in no time, he proved critics wrong.”
He spoke on Thursday as a discussant at the presentation of Cascade of Change, A Decade Of Liberal Thoughts, a book authored by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde.
The political economist stressed that those who thought Ambode was a wrong choice at that time “never knew the governor believed in the philosophy of thinking, planning before acting.”
Utomi pointed out that in the first 40 days many felt the governor was not working, “he was actually thinking and planning and it is reflected in what he has been able to achieve in the last one year in office.”
