BEVERLY HILLS, August 19, (THEWILL) – The Oyo state Government has demolished the building housing popular musician, Yinka Ayefele’s radio station, Fresh Fm 100.9 and music studio.

The demolition of the building located at Challenge Toll gate road began on Sunday morning and attracted hundreds of Ibadan residents who claimed that bulldozers moved in at about 4:30am to commence total disintegration of the building.

Fresh FM had initially raised an alarm through its Director of Corporate Affairs and Promotions, Mr. David Ajiboye who disclosed that the radio station had been given a three day ultimatum to vacate the building as it had been marked for demolition by the government.

Following this, Ayefele through his counsel, Olayinka Bolanle approached an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan to restrain the government from its planned demolition and the hearing was moved to Monday by Justice I Yerima.

On the other hand, the government insisted that the demolition exercise is not peculiar to Fresh FM but to other organizations who have been notified about this development through contravention notices which have been given and served.

It was also disclosed that the physical structure of the building had in turn led to the occurance of three fatal accidents around the building in the past nine months maintaining that the demolition was not a witch hunt act earlier alleged by Ayefele neither was it politically motvated.

The state government has now carried out the demolition and have since left the scene.
