You must give it to Asiwaju Tinubu. He knows where his bread is buttered. While others are thinking about 2015, he has moved to 2019 and that is where he has set his visions. Before others get there he would have placed himself in a secure position to be unbeatable. At least that is what he thinks.
Tinubu has once more set up Buhari to fail, and he will fail again. Unfortunate for Buhari and for Nigeria.
Buhari was well on his way to win 2015 election but he found the need to bow to Tinubu and in the process, gave up his last chance of becoming the president. Who is Osibanjo? Why was he chosen to be the running mate of Buhari?
1. He is a Christian Pastor. Whoa! Have we not seen this movie before with Bakare? What is the word for doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? Osibanjo has nothing to offer Buhari electorally; he has not run a state, he has no name recognition; he does not have a following. At least Bakare had some name recognition and some following. Osibanjo is blaaa. He has nothing to offer a Buhari Administration, not having managed a large institution like a university where he is a professor, or a large church like Bakare has done/is doing, or a state as Amaechi/Oshimole are doing. I can name at least 10,000 Yoruba people who are better qualified than this gentleman.
2. He is a nobody. This is where Mr. Tinubu displayed his political sagacity. This move clears the way for Buhari to fail. A successful Buhari election could mean an 8-year wait for Tinubu and he knows that a lot could happen between now and 2023. By undermining Buhari he has shortened the wait time by 4 years. Buhari’s acceptance of this trick may perhaps tell a little about his foresight or understanding of political moves by his so-called supporters. Beware of the enemy within.
Welcome to Jonathan’s second full term beginning February 2015. Unless APC out rigs PDP. But Tinubu would make sure it does not happen for it will be contrary to his plans.
