BEVERLY HILLS, October 26, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has named billionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.
The commission also named Mr. Alabi Ebenezer Omotayo as his running mate.
Ibrahim is the candidate of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party while Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) emerged candidate of the Ahmed Makarfi faction.
Nick Dazang, the commission’s head of publicity, who made this known on Thursday evening said details about the decision would be released later.
Justice W R Olamide, of an Akure High Court, had restrained INEC from substituting or replacing the name of Jegede (SAN) as the flag bearer of the PDP in the election.
In a similar ruling, Justice Olasehinde Kumuyi also granted Hon. Bamiduro Dada an order restraining INEC and its agents from recognising Ibrahim as the PDP candidate in the governorship election.
