BEVERLY HILLS, February 18, (THEWILL) – Nigerian football is in a state of mourning following the death of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) veteran and experienced Kano Pillars’ defender, Chinedu Udoji.
Udoji lost his life in a ghastly automobile accident on Sunday night after an NPFL game which he featured in for ninety (90) minutes.
Udoji was a former Enyimba captain who crossed to Kano last season after spending many years with the Elephants.
Sadly, Udoji had an accident on Sunday on his way home after featuring in a game against his old side, Enyimba at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The game ended in Kano Pillars’ favour 2-1.
Enyimba has confirmed the news on the official tweeter account of the club.
“We are distraught at the news of the passing of club legend and former captain, Chinedu Udoji. Our commiserations are with his family at this time. #RIPUdoji#AnElephantSleeps#CaptainLeaderLegend,” it tweeted.
