BEVERLY HILLS, October 24, (THEWILL) – President Goodluck Jonathan will formally launch his reelection bid on November 11, 2014, the Chairman of the Presidential Declaration Committee Dr. Haliru Bello, said on Friday during a chat with State House correspondents inside the presidential Villa after the committee’s inaugural meeting.
“The date that is fixed is Tuesday, November 11. On that day, there will be a forum for the President to meet Nigerians to announce his decision,” Bello said, adding that “The venue is yet to be decided. That will be decided at our next meeting. When we come out on November 11, the President will face the people of Nigeria and say yes to their demand.”
The leadership of the PDP has endorsed Jonathan, a southern Christian from the oil-rich Bayelsa State, as its sole candidate for the 2015 Presidential election amidst pockets of protests from some party members.
