BEVERLY HILLS, June 24, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Football national team, Super Eagles, were on Friday, grouped with Zambia, Cameroun, Algeria in Group B of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers.
Tagged group of death, the group comprises three of the five African qualifiers for the last World Cup, Algeria, Nigeria and Cameroon, completed by Zambia, shock winners of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon, with seven appearances, and Nigeria, with five, are the most successful African countries in World Cup qualifying while Algeria has qualified four times.
The group winners qualify for 2018 World Cup in Russia
The draw was concluded at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.
The groupings are as follows:
Group A – Tunisia Libya Congo DR Guinea
Group B – Zambia Cameroun Algeria Nigeria
Group C – Mali Gabon Côte D’Ivoire Morocco
Group D – South Africa Burkina Faso Cape Verde Senegal
Group E – Egypt Uganda Congo Ghana
