BEVERLY HILLS, January 11, (THEWILL) – The Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Mr. Emeka Mba, was on Monday picked up by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an alleged N15bn fraud.
Mba, who sources say had been under the searchlight of the anti-graft agency for the past one month, was arrested in Abuja and taken to the EFCC’s headquarters where he is still being quizzed as at press time.
Just last week, some detectives of the EFCC had stormed the headquarters of the NBC, ransacking computers and files in the Finance and Accounts unit. That operation ended with some key staff of the unit being whisked away.
Senior officials of the NBC declined to comment on the development when THEWILL sought further information. EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwajaren was also unavailable for comments.
