BEVERLY HILLS, December 10, (THEWILL) – The Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) has described the just concluded primaries in the state as free, fair, transparent and devoid of intimidation.
A statement signed by the state secretary of the party, Hon Godwin Etta, said the claims by some aspirants who lost the various primaries that the processes were not fair, was not true.
“Everybody in the state witnessed what happened. The exercise in the state was one of the freest and fairest in the country. Claims of intimidation are untrue.
“The delegates list used for the exercise was authenticated by the national leadership of the party. The same list was certified page by page by the various electoral panel that conducted the various primary elections,” he stated.
He appealed to those who lost to understand that there can only be one winner, and therefore, urged them to work with those who won to ensure victory in 2015, rather than seek to discredit a very transparent process.
He said those making claims of intimidation are even the ones who attempted to introduce thuggery into the politics of the state but were resisted.
