… Federation To Appeal Ruling

SAN FRANCISCO, October 23, (THEWILL) – A Federal High Court in Jos, Plateau State has declared as illegal the election where the current executive of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) led by Amaju Pinnick was installed and also voided the congress preceding the election.

Delivering the verdict in a suit challenging the election, Justice Ambrose Allagao, who had earlier issued a directive that NFF should not hold the election said court orders must be obeyed and respected in order to protect the integrity and sanctity of the courts.

“I have set aside all the proceedings and decisions of the Warri Extra Ordinary meeting of the 20th September and the Elective Congress of 30th September which were direct contravention of the orders of this court as granted on the 19th September,” Justice Allagoa ruled.

The NFF in a swift reaction to the judgment said it would appeal the ruling and seek a stay of execution.
