Buhari Goes Farming In Daura, Hosts Northern Senators

BEVERLY HILLS, December 11, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday took time out to do some farming as he visited his farmland in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.

After inspecting his farm, Buhari shared his photographs on the farm on his Twitter handle and expressed hope that Nigerians would be inspired to embrace farming.

The President said his vision was to see Nigeria, under his leadership, grow what its citizens eat.

“I’m spending a few days at home in Daura before I travel to France for the One Planet Summit,” he wrote.

“Today (Sunday), I paid a visit to my farm. I grow fruits and vegetables, and keep cattle. I hope this will inspire one more person to take up farming.

“My vision is for a country that grows what it eats.”

The President, on Sunday evening, also hosted some Northern Senators led by the Katsina State Governor, Bello Masari.

The Senators were in Katsina for a retreat scheduled to hold on Tuesday and decided to visit Buhari who spent the weekend in his hometown after his two-day official visit to Kano.
