SAN FRANCISCO, October 22, (THEWILL) – Rampaging Boko Haram gunmen struck again Monday in Pelachiroma village in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State , killing three persons as they set ablaze many houses, including churches.
Pelachiroma is a few distance from Azur Forest where the Boko Haram insurgents killed eight persons last Friday.
Local sources told THEWILL “Three persons have been killed by members of the Boko Haram sect who attacked Pelachiroma village of Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State on Monday.”
Giving a graphic detail of the attack, a resident of the village, Ignatius Musa, disclosed that the gunmen stormed the village about noon and went berserk, saying “Even churches were not spared.”
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the Caretaker Committee chairman of Hawul Local Government Area, Dr. Andrew Malgwi, said the insurgents also destroyed many houses in the attack.
