Making the disclosure in Maiduguri, the state capital, Tuesday, Satumari said: “It was really a sad day for me to learn that there were renewed attacks in my constituency, some parts of Borno state and the North east in general by the barbaric acts of the insurgents. People are being killed in cold blood, churches, mosques, shops and residential houses were destroyed, it is very unfortunate. I pray God to grant eternal rest to the souls of those killed by insurgents and quick recovery for the injured ones”.
Lamenting the fresh attacks on Dille, his hometown, and its environs, the lawmaker described the actions of the insurgents as callous, barbaric and unjustifiable.

He however called on security agencies to step up surveillance even as he asked the people of the area to remain very vigilant and report any suspicious persons or movements to the nearest security point or jurisdiction.
Satumari’s disclosure came as a witness to the attack,Paul Ibrahim, who escaped being killed by the whiskers, said the insurgents stormed Dille at about 1pm on Monday.

He said the terrorists, in their large numbers, were armed with AK47 rifles and petrol bombs as they embarked on sporadic shooting, leaving no fewer than 29 persons dead with several houses burnt.
