BEVERLY HILLS, December 12, (THEWILL) – The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Tuesday ordered the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to face trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
Saraki had been arraigned at the CCT on 18 counts of false assets declaration.
However, the Senate President rushed to the Appeal Court seeking to quash the charges brought against him.
In its ruling, the three-man panel of the Court of Appeal led by Justice Tinuade Akomolafe-Wilson unanimously dismissed 15 out of the 18 counts against Saraki.
It then ordered the Senate President to return to the CCT to face trial on the three remaining charges.
