BEVERLY HILLS, July 04, (THEWILL) – A team of policemen, on Friday afternoon, raided the country home of former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mohammed Bello Adoke, in Okene, Kogi state.
The team, made up of over 20 police officers, arrived Adoke’s home at3pmwith a search warrant from Abuja and left after5pm.
According to sources, they were said to be looking for money and unspecified documents in septic tanks as well as underground water tanks.
However, after searching the house for two hours, they did not find anything and promptly asked the guards on duty to sign a form confirming that they did not take anything away.
THEWILL notes that this is the fourth search by security agencies on Adoke with previous ones carried out in The Hague, Kano and his brother’s house in Okene and nothing incriminating has been found thus far.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been on the trail of Adoke, whom they accused of misleading the Federal Government in the transfer of OPL 245 from Malabu Oil and Gas Ltd to Shell and ENI.
Adoke has also been accused of money laundering, but has denied all the allegations insisting that he is being witch-hunted by the family of late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
