SAN FRANCISCO, October 24, (THEWILL) – A meeting of the caucuses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 18 Local Government Areas of the Cross River State, which had state Governor Liyel Imoke in attendance, late Friday night shortlisted five (5) governorship aspirants as the party moves to elect a candidate ahead of the 2015 governorship election in the state.
THEWILL can report that the shortlisted aspirants are Mr. Mike Aniah, a former SSG; Mr. Legor Idagbor, a former Commissioner for Works; Rt. Hon. Larry Odey, current Assembly Speaker; Senator Ben Ayade and Mr. Fidelis Ugbo, an Executive Secretary at the National Planning Commission.
The ruling party had earlier zoned the governorship to the Northern Senatorial District.
