Jigawa: Concern Citizens Condemn Turaki’s Antics

DUTSE, August 18, (THEWILL) - Jigawa State Concern Citizens have noted with dismay the alleged diversionary tactics employed by Senator, Ibrahim Saminu Turaki which the body has alleged to have created disharmony in the state.

The Concern Citizens said after its Tuesday meeting in Dutse that Turaki’s antics are capable of causing disaffection and confusion which may lead to lack of peaceful coexistence among its people.

According to communiqué jointly signed by Ambassador Daudu Suleiman and Alhaji Umar Zandam issued to THEWILL in Dutse after the last meeting attended by senior citizens and state traditional rulers, the body said; "Not withstanding the unprecedented problems inherited by the present administration, the meeting notes with satisfaction the tremendous progress achieved by the Government of Jigawa State in the last three years under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Sule Lamido, particularly in the areas of physical infrastructure, education, health, rural and social development.

"The Meeting urges and expects the state government to urgently revisit the report of the Committee on Management of Contractual Liabilities set up by the present administration to probe the former Governor, Ibrahim Saminu Turaki with a view to do justice to the people, noting that public office is a public trust, " it said.

"However, the Concern Citizens have unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence on the Government of Jigawa State under the leadership of Governor Sule Lamido for its effort to restore hope and aspiration into the future with confidence and pride.

"The communiqué urges Governor Sule Lamido to be undeterred with quality of effort, zeal, and determination and focus which he brought to bear the conduct of governance in Jigawa State and reaffirms its absolute commitment to the promotion of unity and peaceful coexistence and progress of Jigawa State and its people," it added.
