Ramadan: Sect Dispatches 369 Clerics To Nine African Countries

JOS, August 11, (THEWILL) - The Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) a Muslim sect with headquarters in Jos, Plateau State capital has dispatched 369 of its clerics to neighboring African countries to commence the teaching of the translation of the Quran also known as "tafsir" in the current Ramadan month.

The Muslims commenced their 30-day annual fasting today after the moon was sighted yesterday and confirmed by the Sultan of Sokoto and head of the caliphate, Saad Abubakar III.

National Chairman of the sect Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir said the number of clerics sent to African countries this year has increased with 18 more clerics as only 351 were sent last year.

The journey will take the clerics to no les than nine African countries including Cameroon, Benin, Central Africa, Mali, Chad, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger, Togo and Sudan.

Sheikh Jingir urged Muslims to use the period of the Ramadan to dedicate themselves to prayers, recitation of the Qur’an.

He further called on Muslims to ensure and sustain the good deeds they imbibe during the month of Ramadan and urged them not to discard such after the fasting period.

The Sheik called on traders to subsidize the prices of food items stressing that Muslims should also use the period to show love and compassion to the needy.
