We Will Up-scale Abuja Metropolitan Management – FCT Minister

ABUJA, May 13, (THEWILL) - The Federal Capital Territory Administration has vowed to up-scale its metropolitan management to meet international standard.
FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed made the vow while receiving the Coordinator of Honorary International Investor Council, Baroness Linda Chalker who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said the vow has become necessary to encourage genuine investors to come and invest in various sectors of the Federal Capital Territory.
Senator Mohammed emphasized that all the municipal services provided by the agencies of the FCT Administration would be improved upon.
The Minister stated that the FCT Administration has made giant stride in initiating Public-Private-Partnership in order to open-up new districts in the Federal Capital City thereby decongesting the already developed phase one of the city.
According to him, all encumbrances will be removed to set the Federal Capital Territory on a clear path of accelerated development.
He revealed that the process of turning around Land Administration has commenced to allow all title documents issued serve as effective and dependable collateral that would meet the international investors’ desire.
Senator Mohammed solicited for investments in the areas of Power, Water and Agriculture; reiterating that there is high investment returns in the country.
While disclosing that the FCT Administration has outsourced garbage collection in the FCT, the Minister remarked that with the Public-Private-Partnership in the areas earlier mentioned, his administration will now concentrate on other areas like education and health.
Speaking earlier, the Coordinator of Honorary International Investor Council, Baroness Linda Chalker described the Organized-Private-Sector as engine of growth and promised to work closely with the leadership of the FCT Administration for the benefit of all.
Baroness Chalker said that she was in the FCT to discuss ways of assisting the Administration to get investors into its economy in the areas of Power, Water and Agriculture.
She noted that these very important areas desire a lot of capital inflow.
Baroness Chalker is a member of Global Leadership Foundation, Africa Matters Limited as well as Investment Climate Team.
