ABUJA, May 13, (THEWILL) - The people of Ugbomro community, in Uvwie local government area of Delta state have called on President Goodluck Jonathan to investigate the abandoned road project by former Governor James Ibori and the incumbent Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

The road in question serves both the community and the students of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources.

Paramount ruler of the area, High Chief Ambrose Tadafe Olughor JP, who doubles as the Prime Minister of Uvwie Kingdom and Ugbomro community respectively accused former Governor James Ibori and the incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of stalling the Ugbomro road project because of a land case involving Ugbomro community and Ugbolokposo community (Itsekiris settlement), in Uvwie Kingdom, which the Itsekiris lost to the Ugbomro people.

He said the development led to the deliberate abandonment of the Ugbomro road by the Ibori /Uduaghan led governments, a road which is presently inaccessible, and in a very bad situation.

The Uvwie chief lamented that there was no access road to link the Ugbomro community where the Federal University of Petroleum Resources is located and blamed the Delta state government for the ugly situation.

"We have made several pleas to the Delta State government to complete the Ugbomro road project, but we were ignored, even the contractor had told us that they were not mobilized," he said.
