I Will Not Disappoint Nigerians – FCT Minister

ABUJA, April 26, (THWILL) - The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed has assured Nigerians that his administration in the Federal Capital Territory will not disappoint them.
The Minister gave this assurance weekend while addressing a mammoth crowd that received him at the Emir’s Palace, Bauchi as well as in his office situated at Gombe Road Idi Praying Ground respectively during a reception organized in his honour by friends and well wishers over his appointment.
Senator Mohammed who thanked the Emir and the people of Bauchi State for the warm reception accorded him remarked that he would remain a good Ambassador of the people of Bauchi at the Federal Executive Council.
The Minister appreciated their prayers and solicited for their continuous support to the Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan especially at this critical period in the country’s history.
Senator Mohammed who described his appointment as the FCT Minister as a test from God; insisted that all hands must be on deck to leave a befitting legacy.
The Minister promised that his tenure in the Federal Capital Territory would witness unprecedented development in consonance with the Abuja Master Plan.
According to him, "my appointment as the FCT Minister is from God and therefore a test, so everything would be done to justify the trust bestowed on me by the Almighty; this I must achieve."
The Minister recalled that his participation in the Integrity Group of the National Assembly which led to the appointment of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the Acting President was predicated on national interest; stressing that he loves President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and the Acting President but the nation must move forward.
Senator Mohammed told the crowd that the Acting President is working assiduously to make a difference.
Responding, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu thanked Allah for giving one of his subjects the opportunity to serve the nation in this capacity.
He prayed for the success of his tenure and urged him to give good account of himself being a traditional titleholder of Kauran Bauchi.
The Minister also visited the Emir of Missau, Alhaji Muhammad Manga III; the Emir of Azare, Alhaji Kabir Umar; the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya; Emir of Juma’re, Alhaji Amadu Muhammad Wabi III; former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation in the Generals Gowon and Abacha regimes; Alhaji Sule Katagun and Alhaji Aminu Saleh respectively.
The Minister was accompanied on the visit by Senators Muhammad Bello and Adamu Sidi Ali representing Kano Central and FCT respectively.
