WARRI, DELTA April 19, (THEWILL) - The federal government has been called upon to adopt sincere and genuine approach in tackling critical issues affecting the Niger Delta region.

Chief Barrister Smooth, a prominent Ijaw Music maestro, who spoke to THEWILL at his Warri Country home said government must be alive to its responsibility by dealing with genuine agitators otherwise its efforts on the post amnesty programme could be jeopardized.

"The government must be sincere in its decision on issues affecting the region, and most importantly ensure it is dealing with genuine agitators, otherwise its efforts would be wasted", he said.

The peace crusader urged Niger Deltans to remain peaceful, adding that the present administration of Acting president Goodluck Jonathan will genuinely address important issues affecting the region for a lasting peace, which will also attract the desired development.
