Ex-militants Charge Niger Delta Ministry, NDDC To Provide Jobs For Youths

WARRI, DELTA April 15, (THEWILL) – A former militant leader, General Dickson Nicholas Yinkore, of the Niger Delta Expedition Force  (NDEF), has called on the Ministry of Niger Delta Affair and Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to provide job opportunities for the restive youths in the region.

In a statement made available to THEWILL, General Yinkore said that the amnesty programme is for the sustainable development and economic empowerment of the youths for self-reliance, maintaining that such gesture should be complemented by Ministry of Niger Delta Affair and Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

He advised the youths in the region to shun criminal activities and fully support the amnesty programme of the Government while maintaining peace in the region.

He also urged ex-militants to give the desired support to the acting president Goodluck Jonathan to bring total transformation and restore lasting peace in Niger Delta.

He also called for support to the Emmanuel Uduaghan led Delta state government for peace, infrastructural and human capital development, pointing out that Governor Uduaghan desires the support of all Deltans for a second term to enable him complete the on ongoing project and actualize the development programmes in the riverine areas in the state for total transformation of the communities.
