ABUJA April 13, (THEWILL) - The Edo Youth Vanguard (EYV) has raised alarm on the Governor’s plan to remove elected Local Government Chairman and their secretaries for not joining the Action Congress (AC), as the development has caused uncertainty and apprehension across the length and breadth of the state.

Speaking to THEWILL at the end of the sixth Edo Youth Dinner held at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, weekend in Abuja, National Coordinator of EYV, and Mathew Idemudia said the recent removal from office of the chairman of Orhiomwon Local Government Area, Honorable Patrick Aisien and the Secretary to the Local Government, Honorable Thompson Osagie was done without due process.

Idemudia who condemned the action of the Governor said it was unthinkable for Oshiomhole to expect that all Edo indigenes would join the ruling Action Congress in the state, stating that no state in the federation will no peace if all the Governors behaved like Oshiomhole.

"We the youths in the state though non-partisan, cannot condone the excesses of the Governor as he has turned himself into a terror using thugs to visit homes of perceived political enemies apart from his governance by propaganda and deception," he said.

Idemudia also said that it was quite uncharitable for Edo State Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Mr. Anselm Ojezua in his recent statement published in many Nigerian dailies to connect Chief Tony Anenih to the recent bomb scare at the Edo state House of Assembly, adding that the clearance by the Edo state Commissioner of Police showed that propaganda and deception were at play by the Oshiomhole-led administration.

He noted that politics of propaganda and coercion employed by Adams Oshiomhole in the state would be short-lived because the youths of the state are watching.

The Youth body also condemned the emergence of special militia in Edo state being trained by Oshiomhole for use at the 2012 elections in the name of vigilante and that the development is capable of turning the state to a battle ground which is alien to the state, adding that recent suggestions by Oshiomhole to reform the electoral process in the country was laughable when he cannot even reform himself to govern Edo state.

The Youths called on the Governor to as a matter of urgency articulate suggestions from well meaning Edo opinion leaders on how the state can move forward instead of chasing perceived political enemies and wasting hard earned Edo funds on campaigns of calumny.
