WARRI, DELTA April 13, (THEWILL) - Following the resolve by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the additional state and federal constituencies already given to the Urhobo, the largest ethnic group in Delta State, a pressure group, known as Urhobo Research Group (URG) has threatened to mobilize all its youths on a protest march to Abuja to the office of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The group in a statement obtained by THEWILL, queried INEC and described plans by the body to withdraw the additional constituencies of the Urhobos in Delta State as "unholy and sadistic"

It accused a former governor of the state and some ethnic leaders, including state and federal government officials as the brain behind the present position of INEC after it had willingly assigned the Urhobos the new constituencies.

The group further warned that the peaceful gesture of the Urhobo ethnic nationality should not be mistaken for cowardice, as the Urhobo will resist any form of intimidation and sidelining by government or individuals that may undo the Urhobo clan.

It commended the Senator representing the Urhobos in National Assembly, Prof. Adego Eferakeya, and other lawmakers of the Urhobo extraction in the National Assembly for their role in getting INEC to address their complaint.
