Asaba March 18, (THEWILL) - A coalition of youth groups in Delta State known as ‘Delta State Youths Consultative Assembly’ (DSTYCA) have warned vehemently and vowed to stop any legislator that has served two terms or more from returning to both the state House of Assembly and National Assembly.

Rising from an enlarged maiden meeting held at Songhai Delta, Amukpe, Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State on thursday, the group stressed that others should be allowed to represent the people as the legislature is not meant for some class of people whose 'uncontrolled ambitions are driving the state to chaos.'

The group however urged Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to detach himself from the inordinate ambitions of some of the lawmakers 'who now see their positions as a birth right.'

The meeting which was attended by youth leaders from all the ethnic groups in the state said facts have emerged that such political office holders are again warming up for third and fourth terms with a view to 'imposing themselves' on the people of the state and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In their resolution after the meeting the group unanimously rejected any attempt by any legislator in both the state House of Assembly and the National Assembly to perpetuate himself or herself in third and fourth term in office.

"This Assembly shall employ every means necessary to forestall such unbridled ambitions. Since 1999, majority of the elected representatives in the state and National Assembly have occupied such elected offices till date with little or no input to their constituencies," the group alleged.
