Police arrests Husband Who Chopped Off Wife’s Head, Three Kidnappers Too

Asaba March 05, (THEWILL) - Police authorities in Delta State have arrested one Mr. Victor Onyemaechi Okoh, 40 for allegedly killing and chopping off his wife’s head.
Okoh, who is from Ndobu Igbodo, Ika North East, Delta State and resident at No 47, Imudia Street, Agbor was alleged to have committed the crime in a farmland in Igbodo on the 16th of February, 2010.
According to Delta State police spokesman ASP Charles Muka, Okoh was arrested three weeks ago after he left Agbor for his farm in Igbodo in company of his wife, Patricia Okoh, 24, where he allegedly murdered her and chopped off her head, legs and hands for possible rituals.
Muka further disclosed that after committing the gruesome crime, Okoh went to Agbor police station to report a case of missing person, but after a police tip off, he was arrested and on interrogation he confessed murdering Patience in the farm and later took the police to the grave where her severed body was buried and also led the cops to another location where several other body parts were kept.
As at the time of this report, her corpse is said to be at a local hospital mortuary, Kifa, located in another Delta North town called Umunede awaiting autopsy, while the suspect is assisting the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Asaba in their investigation.
In another unrelated development in the State, luck run out on four kidnap suspects in Asaba on the 3rd of March 2010 who attempted to kidnap a banker whose name was given as Mr. Christopher Eke.
Parading the kidnappers friday before Journalists at the state police headquarters, Asaba, the Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Yakubu Alkali, said on that fateful day at about 7:30 AM a notorious four man kidnap gang kidnapped Christopher at ‘Infant Jesus’ Anwai road in a L300 Mitsubishi vehicle with registration No XQ 200 ENU and on receipt of the information by the police operation department team, they went after them and an exchange of gunfire took place around the Delta Broadcasting Service area.
Alhaji Alkali also disclosed that having discovered that they were being chased, the kidnappers shot Christopher on his left leg to demobilize him and later pushed him out of the moving vehicle.
The CP disclosed that one of the suspects whose name was given as Chinedu Nchekwu, 29, of Gwaripa Estate Abuja was killed while a clerical officer attached to Anyameru local government council, Anambra state, Ikechukwu Chukwudi Peter, 31 and the vehicle driver, Michael Nwauzor Ogonna, 29, of Ezeine Avenue, Asaba were arrested while the fourth suspect escaped with bullet wounds.
Unfortunately, two policemen were shot during the incident and they are being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Asaba.
Items recovered from the suspects include one AK 50 rifle with 19 rounds of live ammunition and the vehicle they were travelling in.
The suspects are assisting the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Asaba in their investigations while the manhunt for a lone wounded suspect continues.
All suspects confessed to the crime during an interview with newsmen.
